Canadian Consul General David Alward to Speak on Free and Fair Trade in April

Canadian Consul General David N. Alward will speak on US-Canadian relations on “Canada and the United States:  Promoting jobs and economic growth through free and fair trade” on Thursday, April 13  at noon in the third floor Community Room at One Financial Plaza,1350 Main Street (Corner of Main & Court), in downtown Springfield.

The cost for members is $5 without a lunch and $15 with a lunch provided.  Nonmembers cost is $10 without a lunch and $20 with a lunch provided.  To reserve a sandwich–tuna, turkey or vegetarian–call or email the office.  You can register online with a credit card here.

David Alward was appointed as Canada’s Consul General to New England in May of 2015, and serves as Canada’s representative in Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont.  Mr. Alward was employed with the Canadian federal government from 1982 until 1996. From 1996 to 1999, he was self-employed as a human resource development and community development consultant.  He was first elected to the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick in 1999, was sworn in as Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Aquaculture in 2003, and took the oath of office to become the 32nd Premier of New Brunswick in 2010.
