Academic WorldQuest 2013 Champions
Academic WorldQuest 2013 took place on  Saturday, January 19, 2013  at Western New England University’s Rivers auditorium.  Six four-student teams representing Springfield-area high schools participated.  Springfield Renaissance School emerged as the winner, with Longmeadow High School taking second place and Wilbraham & Monson Academy–2011 champs–came in third.  Renaissance will go on to compete nationally at the national competition in April hosted by the World Affairs Councils of America in Washington, DC.   The topics were:

  • US Economic Competitiveness
  • US Education: Competing Globally
  • US Energy Policy
  • Middle East
  • Afghanistan/Pakistan
  • China
  • UN Millennium Goal: Environmental Sustainability
  • Geography
  • Current Events
  • Cuban Missile Crisis: 50th Anniversary
